HAS your child got what it takes to claim a leading role in the hit musical Matilda? Theatre bosses are holding auditions in Manchester to find the young stars of the show for the first ever UK tour of the show, based on Roald Dahl's much-loved book.

They are casting for Matilda Wormwood herself - the extraordinary little girl whose talents are constantly belittled by her cruel parents and headmistress, the fearsome Mrs Trunchbull.

There is lots involved acting and Royal And they also hope to find talented young actors to play the roles of Matilda's friend Bruce and all her classmates.

All children thinking of auditioning must be aged between eight and 13, and must be under 4ft 10in tall, and children auditioning for Matilda must be under 4ft 3in and be aged from eight to 12.

They must be available for the entire rehearsal and performance period which is from December 2017 to September 2018.

But it would certainly offer the chance of a lifetime for the young acting hopefuls who win the role - starring in one of the most acclaimed new productions to ever open on the West End. …
