A COUPLE have taken their love of Star Wars to a new level.

Elaine and John Gavin employed a graffiti artist to paint a huge themed mural in their front porch.

The couple, from Portwood in Stockport, asked artist Russell Meehan to create a striking design celebrating George Lucas' space opera. So Russ, from art business Mural Life, created a huge image of Yoda and the Jedi troops on the left hand wall.

The right hand wall has been emblazoned with an image of Darth Vader, the Death Star and the Galactic Empire.

Though plans for the mural have been made for months, Russ said it was purely coincidence that he ended up starting work on Star Wars day - May 4. On this date, fans from across the globe celebrate the film series by greeting each other with the phrase 'May the fourth be with you" - a pun on the franchise's most iconic catchphrase. …
