Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard says he wants to make sure flood victims can navigate red tape as they apply for help.

Flood levels are gradually dropping in Quebec and Couillard is urging people to donate whatever amount they can to the Canadian Red Cross to help people who have lost their belongings or even their homes.

More than 27-hundred homes have been flooded across the province.

The provincial government is contributing half-a-million-dollars to the Red Cross, while the cities of Montreal and Laval are also pledging funds. (11)



A new poll shows 76 per cent of Canadians surveyed, 60 per cent of Mexicans and 51 per cent of Americans support the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The Pew Research survey suggests a massive gap in partisan attitudes in the U-S.

It found only 30 per cent of respondents who voted Republican support NAFTA compared with 68 per cent of Democrats. (11)

Part of a tunnel that contains rail cars full of nuclear waste has collapsed at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in southeastern Washington state.

The site has declared a state of emergency.
