WINNIPEG. x-09s. The Manitoba government is being accused of showing no flexibility on two proposed bills that would freeze the wages of the province's public-sector workers and slash health-sector bargaining units in Winnipeg. A number of unions gathered at the legislature last night for committee hearings on bills 28 and 29, seeking to have both pieces of legislation withdrawn. But Finance Minister Cameron Friesen says it's important the unions recognize the province is facing a 900-million deficit.
