Counting is getting under way in B-C after a sometimes bruising 28-day election campaign.

Polls are closed and residents in the province are waiting to see if the Liberals will triumph again after 16 years in power.

Party Leader Christy Clark represents Kelowna West but voted at a community centre in Vancouver, where poll workers had to intervene when a man approached her yelling insults.

Speaking in her riding earlier today, Clark said she's confident the Liberals have done everything they could to reach voters over the past four weeks. (The Canadian Press)

While the Liberals focused much of the election campaign on job creation, the N-D-P has tried to make Christy Clark's leadership as premier the central issue.

Party Leader John Horgan accused her of being out of touch with average people on issues such as the cost of housing and inadequate education funding.

The N-D-P also accused the Liberals of dragging their feet on political fundraising by failing to back legislation that would have banned donations from the corporate and labour sectors. …
