Two teenagers have been charged in a violent home invasion in Hamilton that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Police say an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy are each facing charges including aggravated assault, break and enter and various weapons-related charges.

Investigators say they are still searching for three men following the home invasion yesterday morning, which also left the man's wife injured.

Police say it's believed the incident was targeted. (The Canadian Press)

Government and Consumer Services Minister Tracy MacCharles says it was a case of human error that led to an eastern Ontario woman finding two cartoon characters had liens on her van.

The case was raised in the legislature today by M-P-P Randy Hillier, who represents the riding where the 75-year-old woman lives.

Hillier says when the woman tried to trade her van, she discovered that a Fred Flintstone living on Yellow Brick Road and his daughter Pebbles had liens on the vehicle.

Documents appear to show the liens were registered by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services during a test.

Hillier says it took nine months to resolve the issue, but MacCharles says the woman contacted the ministry in March and the liens were discharged then. (The Canadian Press)
