Red Devils to Investigate Crowd Trouble at Cup Clash

SALFORD have launched an investigation into crowd trouble that tainted their 24-14 Challenge Cup sixth-round win over Hull KR.

The Red Devils have a Pounds 7,500 suspended fine hanging over them after a disturbance at their meeting with Rovers in the Million-Pound Game last October, and the club have pledged to weed out trouble-makers.

A statement on the club's website followed claims of disorder at Friday's match.

It said: "Sadly, last night's terrific win and progression to the quarterfinal of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup was tainted by the inappropriate behaviour of a tiny number of supporters, which goes against the integrity of both the club, the stadium and the sport's code of conduct.

"Working together with Sky Sports and the AJ Bell Stadium, the club is undertaking an investigation to weed out this disruptive minority and moving forward this type of immature behaviour will not be tolerated. …
