NAT106 - (Mouse-Overdose) VANCOUVER. x-10s. A life-saving group on the front line of Vancouver's overdose crisis has saved the life of a pet mouse that overdosed on heroin. Melissa Patton is a volunteer with the Overdose Prevention Society. She says a woman brought in a mouse that had gone comatose after eating some of the drug, and Patton administered the overdose-reversing drug naloxone. She says saving the animal's life was part of caring for clients. ("..the work.") (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: Patton says the mouse's name is Snuggles, and the owner asked Patton to care for the animal while she seeks addictions treatment.
