WHEN Jason Manford agreed to run a mile for charity at Manchester City's training ground, he wasn't expecting to face the wrath of his fellow Blues fans.

But, incredibly, some football fans took exception to the comedian's charity T-shirt for the Run With George campaign - just because it is RED.

Jason, well known to be a City fan, was quick to respond to the complaints on his Twitter account.

After one tweeter calling himself 'Mr Blue' said: "Red T-shirt at City? ***" Jason said simply: "What are you, 8?" Chris Williams tweeted: "Not sure about the red T-shirt", to which Jason responded: "I was there for a charity thing and it was their T-shirt. Also, grow the **** up."

Jason said he had never actually run a mile in his life before, but he was keen to support the Run With George campaign, started by inspirational 10-year-old George Mathias, who is raising money for Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool which saved his brother Jamie's life. …
