EDMONTON. x-17s. Transport Minister Marc Garneau is in Western Canada to promote his bill that aims to help modernize Canada's freight rail industry. Garneau told a business luncheon that people cannot take for granted an industry that moves 280-billion dollars worth of trade goods every year. He says the Transportation Modernization Act will make the rail network ready to handle more grain and other crops in coming years.
