LIAM Walsh admits he is gutted after losing his IBF superfeatherweight world title shot to Gervonta Davis.

The Rochdale-born boxer was controversially stopped in the third round of the bout at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Walsh was knocked down once during the round before being stopped on his feet, but he felt he was fine to continue.

"I should have been given more time," said Walsh.

"People may laugh and think I'm a fool but I don't think I was out on my feet, no way. Fair enough I've been knocked down, but it's a world title fight.

"I've been training 20-odd years for this world title fight so I'm not happy with the referee jumping in so quickly.

"I still have to give credit to Gervonta as the better man won on the night, but I'm far from done in my career. …
