Aaron Case hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning and Devin Mahoney pitched 8 1/3 strong innings Wednesday night to lead St. Louis University to a 3-1 win over St. Bonaventure in a loser's bracket game of the Atlantic 10 baseball tournament at SLU.

The Billikens (33-21), who lost earlier in the day to George Washington, remained alive in the double-elimination tournament and will face the loser of a game between Davidson and George Mason on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Closer Ryan Lefner relieved Mahoney with one out in the ninth inning with two runners on base and picked up his 12th save, stranding runners at second and third after St. Bonaventure pushed one run across.

Mahoney shut down the Bonnies on five hits through eight innings before allowing a single and a walk with one out in the ninth.

Nick Reeser singled in the first run for the Billikens in the second inning. …
