George Washington scored six runs in the first two innings against St. Louis University starting pitcher Miller Hogan and made them stand up for a 6-4 win in the first round of the Atlantic 10 baseball tournament Wednesday at SLU.

The loss dropped the No. 5 seed Billikens into a loser's bracket game late Wednesday night against No. 3 St. Bonaventure, with the loser facing elimination.

SLU scored three runs in the ninth inning on a home run by Alex King, but the Billikens were unable to mount any more of a rally.

James Morisano had three hits and hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for SLU's other run.

Brady Renner pitched eight innings for the Colonials, allowing three runs on eight hits. He left after allowing consecutive singles to start the ninth inning. …
