EDMONTON. x-20s. A seniors' care home in northeastern Alberta has told the union representing its workers that it is going to fire all workers provding nursing care instead of reaching a first contract. The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees says Points West Living notified them last week that it plans to use a private contractor for nursing staff at its residence in Cold Lake, which would mean about 30 workers losing their jobs. Union president Guy Smith says that's something the public should care about.
