SCHOOL BOARD NAMES THREE NEW PRINCIPALS

The board of Pittsburgh Public Schools named three new principals at a special meeting Tuesday.

Yalonda Colbert, a director at Obama 6-12, will lead the East Liberty school. James McCoy, a director at Science and Technology 6-12 in Oakland, will head Allderdice High School in Squirrel Hill. Anthony Esoldo, interim principal at Oliver Citywide Academy in Perry South, was named to that role officially.

Current Obama and Allderdice principals Wayne Walters and Melissa Friez will remain in the district as full-time assistant superintendents, a part-time post each has held since June 2014.
