Trial told arrests made after high-speed chase

REGINA - The trial of a trio of men accused of beating a 54-year-old man, stuffing him into the trunk of a car and killing him outside of Regina has heard from police officers who arrested the accused after a harrowing, high-speed chase.

Joshua Wilson, 26, Johnathon Peepeetch, 26, and Dennis Thompson, 35, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shawn Douglas.

Const. Lee Conrad described Monday the chase in which Douglas's missing SUV reached speeds of more than 100 kilometres an hour in a residential Saskatoon neighbourhood.

It eventually crashed into a parked vehicle.

Several more suspects were arrested at a second location in the city, and by the end of the day, eight people were in custody, including the three accused. …
