Norton, now 25, of the 700 block of Arbor Chase Drive in Wildwood, was given five years' probation in July 2013 after pleading guilty to child endangerment. At the time, she said she regretted her decision to abandon the boy, who survived and was later adopted.

Her probation included a requirement to complete at least 500 hours of community service by Jan. 25, 2014. Court records say she violated probation by failing to provide proof of completing the court-ordered service hours. As a result, St. Louis County Circuit Judge Michael Burton revoked Norton's probation May 22 and sent her to prison for five years.

Norton's attorney could not be reached for comment.
