Feds give Ontario $435M for child care


TORONTO -- Ontario will receive $435 million over three years from the federal government to be invested in child care, in the first such bilateral deal Ottawa has signed with the provinces.The federal government signed a multilateral agreement earlier this week with the provinces and territories except Quebec and British Columbia, and federal and Ontario ministers unveiled the details of Ontario's deal on Friday. 400 words. Alleged Yahoo hacker may not fight extradition

Toronto cop accused of sex assault testifies


TORONTO -- One of three Toronto police officers accused of sexually assaulting a female colleague told court Friday that it was the woman's idea to go back to the men's hotel room and initiate sex after a night of partying and drinking.Const. Leslie Nyznik said the woman didn't appear intoxicated during the night and instigated sex and oral sex with all three officers.
