De Bruyne Picks City Targets in His Own Select Squad

KEVIN De Bruyne has dropped a subtle transfer hint to his City bosses… by picking three of their possible targets in his Premier League team of the season.

The Belgium international was invited to select his top XI from rival clubs - and it just happened to include Southampton centre back Virgil van Dijk, Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez and Spurs left back Danny Rose, all of whom have been on Pep Guardiola's wish-list this summer.

Any deal for van Dijk appears dead in the water after Liverpool were cited a fee of £60million for the Holland international - which the Blues declared to be too high, ending their interest in the 25-year-old.

The fact that Southampton have since talked about upping their asking price to £70million means City have since had no contact with the south coast club. …
