Thousands gathered in Honolulu Saturday to welcome home a 19.5-metre canoe from its three-year voyage around the world. The double-hulled Hokulea (ho-koo-LAY'-ah) arrived back to the island of Oahu after traveling more than 64-thousand kilometres with no modern navigation equipment. The crew of 12 used traditional Polynesian methods to reach 19 countries on their voyage. Hawaii's Auli'i Cravalho, (ow-LEE'-ee cra-VAL'-ho) the voice of Disney's "Moana," was on hand to greet the Hokulea on its homecoming. ("..forget it.")
