NEW Manchester City signing Bernardo Silva has revealed the story behind his bizarre nickname.

The £43million Blues signing - hailed by many in his native Portugal as their best player since Cristiano Ronaldo - starred as his national team beat Russia 1-0 in the Confederations Cup on Wednesday.

And he said that he felt he had been 'set free' after being given a start in the tournament, being staged in Russia as a curtain-raiser to next summer's World Cup.

"My coach and my team trusted in me to do what I was able to do at my club (Monaco) last season, so I'm really happy to have helped and I feel good about tonight," he told FIFA.com.

"Personally, I'm just really happy to be here, representing my country. But yes, it felt even better because it was a big game for Portugal. …
