Climate confab: Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna has a busy week ahead. On Monday, she will be in Montreal alongside her Quebec counterpart to announce a new phase of a federal-provincial plan to protect the St. Lawrence River. The next day she is in Charlottetown to host the American and Mexican environmental ministers for a two-day meeting, which comes as Canada and the U.S. are forging divergent paths on climate change.

Bank talk: Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz will be in Sintra, Portugal, on Wednesday as part of a panel at the European Central Bank's forum on central banking. Business cycles, growth and macroeconomic policy will be discussed. …
