Man Charged in Bar Shooting Rowdy Buck Closed Temporarily after Incident

A 23-year-old man has been charged with homicide in the shooting of a West Mifflin man inside the Rowdy Buck bar on the South Side.

Kolbrin Holyfield is accused of killing Dahrique Smith, 25, who was shot multiple times inside the crowded bar at 1321 Carson St. about 12:40 a.m. May 21.

Mr. Holyfield was being held in the Allegheny County Jail. Additional details about what prompted the shooting and how and where he was arrested were not immediately available.

About two weeks after the attack, Pittsburgh police released surveillance footage of four people believed to be connected to the slaying. That video prompted tips that helped investigators identify Mr. Holyfield, public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said Thursday.
