Pipelines Are Essential for Economic Gain from Natural Gas

Pennsylvania is in great shape to benefit from the thriving energy economy thanks to natural gas. Unfortunately, Pennsylvania is inadequately prepared to do this without increased pipeline infrastructure development. It is not enough to have the energy resources if we cannot transport those resources to where they are needed in a manner that is efficient and safe for local communities.

This topic was discussed at a breakfast the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce hosted recently titled, "The Nexus Between Energy, Opportunity and Jobs."

Pipelines are the safest way to transport energy resources -safer than by truck on our overcrowded roads and safer than by rail on aging tracks. One project that will ensure the safe delivery of energy resources is the Mariner East 2 pipeline, which will transport natural gas liquids like propane, ethane and butane from Western Pennsylvania to the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex in southeastern Pennsylvania. …
