Inspirals' Tea Party in Memory of Craig

THE Inspiral Carpets are holding a fundraising tea party in memory of their 'beloved' drummer Craig Gill.

The 44-year-old dad took his own life at his home in Greenfield, Saddleworth, last year after suffering from 'unbearable' tinnitus for more than 20 years, an inquest heard.

Now his former bandmates are hoping to raise money and awareness with a Tea for Tinnitus party in Salford Lads' Club's Smiths Room in aid of the British Tinnitus Association.

The condition can be caused by exposure to loud music and is often described as a ringing in the ears, although those affected may hear other noises such as whistling, humming or hissing.

Announcing the event, the band said it was a cause close to their hearts.

Keys player Clint Boon will be DJing at the event, while his wife Charlie will be selling her Mrs Boon's Cakes along with goodies baked by guitarist Graham Lambert's wife Karen, who runs Saddleworth Bakehouse. …
