Graduate Transfer Jack Whitman Leaving KU Basketball

Jack Whitman's time with the Kansas men's basketball team is over.

Whitman, the Jayhawks' forward who joined the program in the offseason as a graduate transfer from William & Mary, has decided to leave the program, according to a report from ESPN's Jeff Whitman.

The forward informed KU coach Bill Self of his decision Wednesday night, according to a source close to KU who confirmed the exit late Wednesday.

Self said Whitman informed him of his decision by phone.

"I do not know what his plans are moving forward," Self said in a Thursday news release. "All I know is he will not be part of our basketball program. We wish Jack the best with his future endeavors."
