Family's Terror as Yobs Set Fire to Wheelie Bins

A MUM has described the terrifying moment arsonists torched wheelie bins and the flames spread towards her house.

Jo Woods, her husband Tom and two-year-old daughter were woken up by a neighbour banging on the front door of their house on Eyet Street, Leigh. When Jo glanced out of the window she could see her flames in her back garden.

A group of teenagers are believed to set alight to wheelie bins outside the family home. The bins were resting against a fence which also caught alight and the fire spread to the garden. A brave neighbour managed to remove the burning fence panel while it was alight to stop the flames spreading.

Firefighters believe the offenders used a flammable liquid to cause the blaze. The incident has been reported to Greater Manchester Police who have launched an investigation.
