CITY'S incredible summer of spending is just the start, as the club's Abu Dhabi owners intend to furnish Pep Guardiola with a squad full of stars.

The Blues have invested more than £200m on players already during this transfer window - and retain interest in Kylian Mbappe, Alexis Sanchez and cover at centre-back.

Crucially, City believe they have the financial muscle to maintain such spending even in the face sky-rocketing fees.

Chief commercial officer Tom Glick said: "We want to continue to compete in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. If there are flaws in our team and things we need to get stronger, then we need to do that (spend) to get the absolute best players.

"We're all competing for what we feel will be the best players that will make a difference, help us to compete and beat our rivals in the Premier League and Champions League. …
