NAT110 - (US-Ford-Explorer-Fumes) (NOT FOR ONLINE USE) AUSTIN, Texas. x-14s. The U-S government's auto safety agency has expanded an investigation into complaints of exhaust fumes inside Ford Explorer S-U-Vs, adding two model years and nearly 400 thousand vehicles. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made the move after finding more than 27 hundred complaints about exhaust odours and fears of carbon monoxide in an investigation started last year. Many complaints also came from police departments. Austin's interim city manager Elaine Hart says the city has decided to no longer use the fleet of Ford Explorers. …
