The college rapist Riley County and Lawrence police are looking for is not the man depicted in a composite sketch circulating on social media.

The Riley County Police Department said on Twitter that there isn't a sketch of the man they believe is connected to 12 rapes and two attempted rapes reported by Kansas State University and University of Kansas students. The image of a man that has recently been posted is related to a different case, RCPD said.

At a news conference last week, authorities said the 14 sexual assault incidents, which span 15 years, appear to be connected.

Riley County police Director Brad Schoen said the assaults involved a masked intruder entering a victim's off-campus residence, typically between 2 and 4:30 a.m. while the victim slept. All but one coincided with a break in the academic calendar, he said. …
