Cops Have Busted Six Suspects for Soliciting Obscene Photos of Schoolgirls over Social Media

TAIPEI, Taiwan - The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested six suspected for allegedly using fake social media accounts to solicit explicit images of underage girls - often through blackmail.

Searches of the suspects' homes turned up 401.1 gigabytes of such content, both photos and videos.

The victims comprise at least 52 underage individuals, according to National Police Agency, which added that the suspects had earned NT$500,000 by offering others access to the content.

The case has been transferred to a district court for prosecution; the six are being charged with multiple offenses, including violating the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act.

According to the CIB, the suspects used fake accounts on social media platforms including Line, BeeTalk and Facebook to send and receive multimedia of the female victims, who included both elementary and high school students. …
