The Dutch manufacturer of the spinning, swinging carnival ride that broke apart in mid-air at the Ohio State Fair a week-and-a-half ago says it's determined what caused the malfunction that left one teenager dead and several others injured. The company K-M-G says their engineers visited the site and conducted a metallurgical inspection of the unit and found excessive corrosion on the interior of the gondola support beam.
