TEEN CHOICE AWARDS - CHARLOTTESVILLE

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Usually the Teen Choice Awards is an event that celebrates the fun of being young in America. But with the weekend events in Charlottesville, Virginia, the show took on a more serious tone at times. Some of the winners urged their young fans to do more to make the world a better place than their elders have. Zendaya made the comments while accepting the award for her work in "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

TAYLOR SWIFT - GROPING CASE

DENVER (AP) _ Though Taylor Swift is no longer officially part of the trial in which she accuses a former radio D-J of grabbing her butt during a photo op, the case will continue today in Denver. On Friday, the trial judge kicked out David Mueller's (MYOO'-lerz) allegation that Swift made up the groping claim to get him fired. The judge said after hearing Mueller's side of the case, there was no evidence to prove Swift had anything to do with Mueller losing his job. The judge also says there's no indication Swift made up the story. Still to be decided is whether Swift's mother or others in her inner circle were involved in a plot to make up a story and have Mueller fired.

Many never mention the violation to others -- much less take it up with police. As bad as it is here in the U-S, it's worse elsewhere. A 2015 global survey globally found more than half the female respondents outside the U-S had been fondled or groped.
