BELLEVILLE * All that was missing were tents, a bonfire and the telling of ghost stories at hole No. 14 to complete the campsite visual at Clinton Golf Course.

When O'Fallon senior Alyssa McMinn walked to see the line of people waiting to tee off on No. 14, she just took a deep breath and prepared to wait with her group. Then her teammates began to join her in the waiting game.

"They just sat down and acted like they had a picnic because there were about four or five groups sitting at the same tee," O'Fallon coach Chris Eddy said.

With such a long delay in between shots, close to an hour for some groups, McMinn and her teammates began to joke and enjoyed the waiting game.

But when it was their turn, all the jokes faded. All the relaxation evaporated as they turned their focus back to the task at hand. …
