Sad confirmation from Ottawa that a Canadian was killed in the terrorist attack in Barcelona.

Four others were injured.

The news came in a statement today from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The man who was killed has been identified as Ian Moore Wilson, the father of a Vancouver police officer.

In all 13 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in the attack. (18)

The Canadian National Exhibition is offering reassurances the Toronto event is safe after the deadly terror attack in Barcelona.

C-N-E organizers say security plans for the 18-day fair were modified earlier this year following a number of attacks in Europe in which cars were used as deadly weapons.

In the last 13 months, there have been nearly a dozen vehicle-ramming attacks in Europe and the United States.

The C-N-E does not allow vehicles onto the fair grounds when it's open to the public and will be closely monitoring anyone driving on-site with deliveries. (18)
