NAT093 - (Zika-Mosquitoes-Windsor) WINDSOR, ONT. x-16s. Health authorities say a mosquito species responsible for carrying the majority of Zika virus cases has been captured in Canada for the first time. The single adult Aedes aegypti was captured last week. Doctor Wajid Ahmed, acting medical officer of health at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, believes the mosquitoes may have hitched a ride into Canada on a shipping container. ("..warmer areas.")
