Union Calls for an Investigation after Ugly Scenes

THE players' union has called for an investigation into the scenes at the end of the win against Bournemouth which saw Raheem Sterling sent off.

The incident saw fans spill on to the pitch and a Bournemouth steward alleged he had been assaulted by Sergio Aguero - an allegation that was later withdrawn.

Aguero tweeted after the game to say: 'Great win today! On this story about their steward, I did not hit anyone, this allegation is false, and the TV pictures prove it. C'mon City'.

And following the incident the PFA has expressed concern about the manner in which a fan was restrained by a steward and the PFA has called for an inquiry.

A spokesman for the union said: "We hope the incident will be reviewed. The incident with the steward who made the complaint needs to be looked at, as does his actions when restraining the fan. …
