Pair of Two-Vehicle Crashes Reported Early Tuesday

Topeka police and emergency responders were on scene of two crashes that occurred minutes apart Tuesday morning in the southern part of the capital city.

One crash, reported at 7:52 a.m., occurred at S.W. 42nd and Topeka Boulevard and involved a van and a car.

Police at the scene weren't able to provide many details about the crash, but it appeared a maroon Nissan car had rear-ended a white Dodge minivan.

The Nissan had extensive front-end damage, while the Dodge minivan was damaged on its back end. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Both vehicles came to rest facing north just south of S.W. 42nd on Topeka Boulevard. The Nissan was in the northbound lane while the minivan had crossed a concrete median and ended up in the southbound lanes of traffic.

It wasn't immediately known if anyone in the vehicles was transported to the hospital by ambulance, though police did say only minor injuries resulted from the collision. …
