1967 SEPTEMBER 2: Two greats of the English game - Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore - shake hands ahead of the West Ham versus Manchester United Division One clash at Upton Park.

It was just a year after the two had played together in England's historic World Cup Final win over West Germany at Wembley in July 1966.

United won 3-1 with goals from Charlton, Brian Kidd and Jimmy Ryan.

The season went on to be one of the most successful in the club's history with United winning the European Cup and finishing second in the league.

Top scorer George Best (32 goals) was voted European Footballer of the Year.

1981 AUGUST 28: Former head zookeeper Matt Kelly, aged 71, leads a group of protesters outside the entrance to the Belle Vue pleasure park.

It was a last ditch effort to halt the bulldozers before they cleared the site for redevelopment. …
