GARDEN HILL, Manitoba. x-12s. Military transport planes have started taking fire evacuees from northern Manitoba to Winnipeg where they will be housed in an emergency shelter inside the city's convention centre. Many of the 37-hundred people fleeing a large blaze near three remote First Nations waited overnight in an airstrip terminal, gymnasiums and other buildings. Chief Alex McDougall of Wasagamack (wah-SAG'-ah-mack) First Nation was among those lining up to get on a Hercules aircraft this morning. He says people are frustrated.
