Bayer Sells Medical Device Repair Business; New Local Firm to Be Created

Bayer Corp. has sold a medical device repair business to private investors who are merging it with two other firms to form a new company that will be based in Pittsburgh.

Cleveland-based Resilience Capital Partners said it bought Bayer's Multi Vendor Service that was formerly part of Bayer's radiology unit in Pittsburgh.

MVS will be combined with Westco Inc. of Tulsa, Okla., and MD MedTech near Denver, Colo., to create the new firm, Innovatus Imaging Corp.

The new business, located in RIDC O'Hara, will have more than 170 employees, including about 70 at the Pittsburgh headquarters, said Bill Kollitz, president and chief operating officer.

Innovatus also plans to acquire the European operations of MVS based in the Netherlands. That unit has fewer than 10 employees.
