Phil Jurkovec's dual-threat ability was on full display Friday night.

Jurkovec, a Notre Dame recruit, had a hand in five of Class 6A No. 1 Pine-Richland's six touchdowns in the Rams' 42-7 rout of Seneca Valley in the Northern Seven Conference.

The visiting Rams scored all of their points before halftime.

Jurkovec started off with a pair of runs, a 1-yarder and then a 10-yard scamper. He then went on a streak of three consecutive scoring passes to Raymond Falcone, covering 52, 34 and 25 yards. Falcone, a Lehigh University recruit, had five catches for 148 yards.

The Rams' other score was a 4-yard run by Anthony Cerminara.

Seneca Valley (0-2, 0-1) got on the board in the third quarter when Noah Mancuso scored from 8-yards out.

Jurkovec completed 15 of his 22 pass attempts for 254 yards. Pine-Richland (3-0, 1-0) has topped the 40-point mark in each game this season and outscored the opposition by a total of 136-36.

Lebanon's Aidan Cain, the leading receiver in the WPIAL this season, hauled in three passes for 80 yards, including a 53-yard scoring strike from Seth Morgan in the third quarter. for the host Blue Devils (2-1, 1-0) in their Southeastern Conference victory. Last week against Pine-Richland, Cain set a state record with 27 catches for a WPIAL-record 350 yards. Mt. Lebanon's James Stocker completed 10 of 21 passes for 103 yards, and Antonio LaSota ran for 130 yards and a touchdown. Hempfield (1-2, 0-2) lost starting quarterback Jordan Sliwoski to a separated shoulder last week, and it showed last night.

* Bethel Park 28, Peters Township 7: The third-ranked Black Hawks rode a powerful running game to grind out their Southeastern Conference victory. Tanner Volpatti scored on runs of 12 and 23 yards, and John Doleno added a 73-yard burst. …
