NAT064 - (US-Hurricane-Irma-Florida) (NOT FOR ONLINE USE) HIALEAH, Fla. x-06s. As hurricane Irma continues its path of destruction through the Caribbean, airports in the Bahamas are shutting down ahead of the Category 5 storm's expected arrival later tonight. The U-S National Hurricane Center expects Irma to remain at Category 4 or 5 for the next day or two as it passes just to the north of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, nears the Turks and Caicos and parts of the Bahamas and skirts Cuba on Friday night into Saturday. It's then forecast to turn towards Florida. Florida Governor Rick Scott says Irma could cause a record-setting catastrophe, comparing it to a massive 1992 storm. ("..current path.") (SOURCE:ABC)
