Skiers and snowboarders will be able to take to the piste from Yorkshire thanks to a new route from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The new winter route from Crystal Ski Holidays to Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport in the Rhone-Alps region in France, will take off from Saturday, December 23, with once a week flights.

Steve Gill, Doncaster Sheffield Airport's chief executive, said: "This is great news for skiers from across the region. We are delighted to be growing our winter ski offering and provide passengers with more choice for skiing routes to popular destinations. Given how close it is to Mont Blanc, Chambéry offers Yorkshire winter sports enthusiasts' easy access to some of the finest slopes and facilities the world has to offer.
