UNITED will assess Paul Pogba's suspected hamstring injury after he was forced off during their Champions League group stage win over Basel.

Pogba, who was named captain for the first time by Jose Mourinho, lasted just 19 minutes against the Swiss champions before he was replaced by Marouane Fellaini.

Pogba was later seen to leave Old Trafford on crutches.

The Frenchman suffered a hamstring injury in March and was sidelined for more than three weeks but only missed two United matches due to the spring internationals. Pogba also suffered another muscle injury the following month and was unavailable for the Manchester derby at City. United entertain Everton in the Premier League on Sunday and have four more fixtures over the next two-and-a-half weeks - and Mourinho admitted he did not know how serious Pogba's injury was. …
