NAT108 - (CRIME-Letter-Bombs) WINNIPEG. x-08s. A Winnipeg man accused of sending letter bombs to lawyers' offices and to his ex-wife has pleaded not guilty to five counts of attempted murder and several explosive-related charges. Guido Amsel (GWEE'-doh AM'-sel) appeared briefly in court today. His lawyer, Sahell Zaman (sah-HEEL' ZAH'-man), says Amsel is fighting the charges. ("..hearing formally.") TAG: The defence is also challenging the validity of a blood sample that was taken from Amsel for D-N-A evidence at his upcoming trial. Amsel was arrested after packages containing explosives were sent to his ex-wife and two Winnipeg law firms in 2015. Maria Mitousis (mih-TOO'-sis), who had represented Amsel's ex-wife in a divorce proceeding, lost her right hand and suffered other injuries when one package detonated. …
