NAT097 - (Alta-Wildfire) EDMONTON. x-17s. A wildlife expert says animals are well-adapted to survive a wildfire like the one burning in southwestern Alberta. Matt Besko is director of wildlife policy at Alberta Environment and Parks. He says some individual animals may die because of the fire, but wildfires are good for the ecosystem in the long term.
