A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of dad Michael Grimshaw Doting father Mr Grimshaw, 34, known as Mike, was allegedly stabbed to death outside his home in Sale on July 20 this year.

Tyrone Patrick became the first person to appear in court in connection with his death.

Mr Patrick, 32, was formally read the charge of murder at a short hearing at Manchester Magistrates Court yesterday.

Dressed in a grey sweater and tracksuit bottoms, he spoke only to confirm his name and details.

He was told the case could only be dealt with at the crown court and it was immediately sent there with no plea being asked for or entered.

He is also charged with possession of a knife or bladed article on the same date and Matthew Treece, prosecuting, said this should also be sent to the crown court as it is alleged that this was the 'murder weapon. …
