FREDERICTON x-16s. New Brunswick's minister of local government says the province will provide financial assistance to any municipalities facing a decrease in revenues due to a freeze on property tax assessments. Serge Rousselle says his department will work with each local government on a case-by-case basis.

TAG: Rousselle says it's estimated about 46 of the nearly 110 municipalities will need some help, for a total of about 2.6 million dollars. The province's Liberal government announced the freeze on assessments in June, hoping to contain a festering scandal involving what the premier said were thousands of errors going back to 2011.
