Topeka Pride Slates Week of Activities

Topeka Pride is planning several events to bring together the LGBTQ community, as well as engage with the larger Topeka community.

Activities scheduled Sept. 11-15 include:

Monday, Sept. 11: Educational film on gender identity, 6 p.m., The Break Room, 911 S. Kansas Ave.

"(It's to) help those kids and their parents get those questions out there and answered and connect with each other in a way that maybe they haven't been able to," said Topeka Pride member Phoenix Nesmith.

"Hopefully, the discussion will continue at home," added Nicole Nesmith, Phoenix's mother and president of Topeka Pride.

Wednesday, Sept. 13: A portion of sales at NOTO Burrito, 822 N. Kansas Ave., will go to Topeka Pride.

Thursday, Sept. 14: "Get a Clue Trivia" night, 8 p.m., The Break Room. Cost: $10 per person; $15 per person to play at VIP tables. …
